RC cars are a great idea for kids – no matter how old!

Let’s assume you are like me and one of the 99% that aren’t quite so interested in the most expensive toys available. RC cars provide great fun and learning. Even mid-range cars could be modified and adjusted, giving kids a safe way to learn science lessons about electricity, physics (speed, weight, time factors), aerodynamics, radio frequencies, etc. It gets them away from the TV and computer (very necessary!), and helps with reflex and coordination development in the “real world” more than any video game can. In the past, there were extra costs with nitro cars due to needing to buy new batteries every so often, but now many cars can be charged. If maintained and taken care of, these toys will last a long time and provide great educational fun for the whole family.

Well, it is only two weeks after that both Lili and Ira have tried their toothbrushes, so I guess it’s already high time to make a review.. I waited two weeks to see how the toothbrushes affected my daughter’s and niece’s brushing style, and interest..

Since they have been exposed to Hello Kitty stuff, they of course liked the tooth brushes.. I personally love them, but unfortunately, they are for kids and not for adults, so I just have to enjoy myself look at them intently as they brush with delight.. The gentle bristles protect their gums from bleeding and the handles come with a suction cup that allows for the toothbrush to stand.. The cute Hello Kitty Sculpted with suction feet to stand up at the counter (P119 Watsons and SM), is what makes my niece really excited every time.. Her toothbrush is the one in the middle.. Cute isn’t it?

My daughter’s is the one on the right, the Hello Kitty Light up Timer Toothbrush (P189 Watsons and SM).. Just like her Firefly toothbrush, the brush has a light that lights up for 1 minute.. She just loves that.. So she excitedly brushes her teeth, as always..

Since they were made to bring toiletries and grooming kit, I let her take the Hello Kitty Pedo Kit that comes with a Pouch, Toothbrush, Cap, 4 pack flosser (P 170 Watsons and SM) too.. That way, if she needs to brush in school, she will also love brushing there.. By the way, the tooth brush in this kit is similar to what you see above left, the Hello Kitty Suction to stand up on the counter (P99.75 Mercury).. With the pedo kit, I still have an extra toothbrush in case Lili will need one more Hello Kitty toothbrush..

What did you get your dads on Father’s Day? I got my father an after shave musk. It was one of those scents and things I bought from Victoria Secrets shop in Singapore, while I was there.. I thought I had given all the scents and things from their men’s line to my father when I arrived, but lucky me, even without budget, I still got him a present, lol..

Anyway, the necktie above is also a great Father’s Day treat, but my dad doesn’t wear a necktie so he is probably not going to use this anyway. It arrived the other day and I was really smiling when I saw it as the color is quite astounding— GOLD! I like it actually. But it is not for me, so I gave it to my father. And he was the one who gave me an idea that it was indeed a good father’s day gift, because he joked that his father’s day gifts continue arriving even when Father’s day has passed already.. It is a very cozy hotel right at the heart of  Makati City that is known for those who go on a budget travel in Makati City. But guess what, it is  more than just being affordable. It is also communications friendly. You have 24 hours free use of the telephone line plus, it is the only  Makati hotel with free internet. If  you go to other hotels, you will be charged for Internet access.

See our room, Mommy Phebie’s and mine:

The room was our sanctuary and refuge from the heat while it continued to be very warm and humid outside. We enjoyed an air-conditioned room with 2 huge beds and a 3rd bed which is a single bed— that could actually accommodate  an entire family. Well actually, Mommy Phebie and I shared a Family Suite. Family Suites will cost only P 4,580.00 a night. Other bloggers like April and Keiven from Davao, each stayed in a Standard Suite that costs P 2,980 a night,  while others like Junelle and Mj from Ilo-ilo, or Jorich and Clarence from Cebu,  shared Deluxe Suites. Deluxe Suites cost P 3,580 a night.

Personally, I loved the hot and cold shower for I am always taking hot showers and baths even at home. But this time, I need not heat water as it casually flowed in our shower room.  Hot baths are soothing and relaxing especially when I feel dead tired after a day’s work in front of the PC.

Another great advantage of our stay at Jupiter Suites is the fact that we have continued our online tasks right inside our room as they have available WIFI connection. If for some reasons a guest is not able to connect to WIFI, they will provide you with LAN connectors to easily get Internet access. Now, if for example you do not have a laptop with you, but may need to go online, they have a business center where you can use their PC for free and it is just within the building so it is safe. And speaking of safety, a 24 hour security is assured of all guests at Jupiter Suites.

Mommy Phebie and I bought foodies like brownies and candies that we freely placed in our refrigerators to keep them cool, and drinks are readily available to match them.  I noticed that the price is even cheaper compared to other hotels I have checked in. Coke in can and bottled water is only P 33 each while it will already cost P 45 in other hotels.

Oh, and the closet are huge enough with lots of hangers so you can really store your clothes and stuff to keep things tidy. And the best part, I love their fresh clean sheets that when I sleep and cover my face in them, I could almost instantly drift to dreamland..

The staff are courteous and you could actually leave your precious stuff without worrying if some burglar may rob you of such things. But then if you really want to make sure your stash are safe, you can go ahead and request for a Safety Deposit Box. I remember, one time, we were headed for my mother’s home-city and we had to take a 3 hour drive as early as 3 in the morning. So the night before, the cars were checked, especially the wheels. Unfortunately, we woke up late and found out that someone tried to steal the wheels of the Red Lady Bug.. the connections were loosened, that if we woke up earlier and went ahead with the journey, something bad may have happened to us.. So, after that incident, the boys, my father and brother, would check the cars’ wheels the night before and, of course,  the wee time before they will hit the road. Better safe than sorry..

I hope all of us will take that as a precaution.So it doesn’t really matter where you bought your car wheels, the most important thing is that, they are properly attached and properly molded.What’s with shiny or colorful wheels, if  they will cause the driver his life?
