A house is never a home. A house is simply the structure where a home is built by love, understanding and patience. I think I read that somewhere, a long time ago. And true enough, when the rigors of life face you, it never really matters for as long as you have that group of people who will welcome you with a tight embrace, a hug and a kiss. Everything is alright, even when the pangs of deceit continue to attack on the outside. But inside, your home, that is built on love will continue to shower you with love’s embrace and the cares of a lifetime.
Our children may just be little, but they do have simple battles when they are away from home. A difficult exam, rowdy classmates or even selfish adults who ruin their lives by mere negative remarks and ill mannered treatment, smokers who ignore the fact that they are causing more harm than good towards others around them, monsters who steal kid’s innocence, and politicians who are only after their name. Ha!
At the end of the day, or at the end of your child’s day, it always helps to be there at the door waiting for him or her with a welcoming smile, a tight embrace and a kiss. Then ask how her or his day went— That always helps kids especially when they just came from a frustrating battle outside your home.
