A lot of people these days are taking time to learn new things that could help them in every step in life. Mostly, skills training to help augment the family income. And some, like myself, enroll in skills training to learn more things that can be applied in daily life. Skills training usually last a month to six months. And some specialize and spend a year or two in the learning process. Good that we have government entities like Alternative Learning Systems and TESDA that hosts the classes for FREE. But there are also other schools that give private lessons and provides certificates also.

I once heard of the Arizona cosmetology school and the reviews were so good, that I had to look for a school that offers the same lessons they offer. And I found it at ALS.. That was years ago. I took Cosmetology and Handicrafts at that time because I was supposed to go abroad and I knew the two skills learned from the said classes would be useful as sidelines that will pay more than being a teacher. But, I had a career turn around and did not pursue it. Two years ago, I studied Culinary for certificate only as I know how to cook and even if  I won’t brag about it, I get good reviews for my cooking. Last year, I studied Reflexology and Swedish Therapy for personal reasons. I know my father would benefit from it to alleviate his ailment.  Like what I mentioned earlier, having learned these skills also entails getting certificates that you can use. So when I had my teachers ranking for the first and second time and I was ranked 3rd,  and 1st respectively. The certificates scored me a big deal for extra skills, wherein a teacher must have at least two,  apart from all the other extras in one’s credentials..

How about you? Are you also into skills training?
