Professional Teachers Board Examination Results April 2010
Sunday, May 23rd, 2010Here now are the new batch of licensed teachers to join the many teachers who will “make or break” the future of this country. I have met many teachers, my own teachers, colleagues, acquaintances and friends, but NOT all of them pass the standard of what a good teacher really is. Some are there because they feel they never had a choice to begin with. Some have embraced teaching because they feel it is the only profession they can ever embrace due to lack of further opportunities parallel their credentials. Some are swayed because of the increase in the salaries of teachers in the public schools, and so on and so forth.. And some are there because they really want to be there– a life vocation so to speak. Although the number is quite a few only.
Anyway, whatever reasons these new teachers have, Congratulations for passing the Licensure Examinations.

I hope the International Ratings of Philippine Education will go up a notch higher, if not the highest… Well, it is a collective effort. The students and the people behind them. Teachers have this supreme obligation, so does every parent– Education is a partnership between the home and the school, and each community member, whether related to the student or not, should oblige himself or herself to pitch in.. Businessmen should not push for products or services that go against education..
Uhm.. this is my dream. Being both a parent and an educator, I see how painful reality is. Even teachers do crazy things that destroy a child’s vision of education and ultimately affect him or her as he or she grows up and joins the world of adults still lacking enough knowledge, enough strength, enough foresight to gain ground on his or her new territory. If we want change, we need to change how we educate the young, and practice what we preach. Otherwise, they will still be bounded by the mistakes of our past— literality and figuratively.
I hope this dream will be realized…
