When I feel that the world is too cramped up with people like monsters and demons, or even nasty bullies in the adult arena, I remember this poem:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

I wish all mothers would raise children in such a way that when they grow older, they would not become one of the monsters, demons, leeches and nasty bullies in the adult arena— for the sake of peace..

But then again, there is always KARMA! In one way or another, they will earn it at whatever cost, at what ever price.

A New School Awaits..

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

My sister and I went downtown to check out a new school which we heard was a good one, being that it is Montessori in training. Well, my siblings and I were Montessori trained so we know what good it will do to a child. We are considering it for Lili and River after K2 in March next year.. They will be graduating from K2 so might as well prepare the plans for the next big thing– a bigger more education and child friendly school. Anyway, when we reached the gate, all we saw were lockers and more school lockers. There were no people inquiring, just us, lol.. And mostly construction workers and some women helping them fix the rooms and some of the other amenities in the school, or so we thought. A man getting some storage lockers fit on the wall was assisted by younger men, but not exactly teen-age looking. One of them looked more like a model in a commercial I saw years ago, hmm. I dunno if anyone of you remember that Axe commercial, where a guy was standing half naked in front of the gym lockers, the kind that is similar to metal lockers but are actually wood lockers.. Do you remember that? Anyway, it was ages ago so I doubt that you would. So going back to this guy, who looked more like a commercial model instead of a worker. Well, he was so clean looking and it is as if he never really held any of the tools as well as handled some of the repairs. I bet any woman his age would fall for his cute smile.. He looks so adorable and sexy, kinda like  Piolo Pascual, or Alec Baldwin– yummy! hehehe…  I think even plastic lockers would melt just being held by him, lol..

Oh that’s just me and my silly thoughts.. So anyway, we went straight and when we reached a very unique colored locker we saw a sign that read, “lockers for sale“.. So my sister whispered, “Ate, is this really a school or what?” She giggled at the thought that perhaps we were in the wrong place. We went to peep through a window just a few meters away from the office lockers that followed that sign we just read earlier. And a short man went out of the office and approached us. So I spoke with him and inquired about the flier where we read about the school that is to open in June. He shook his head and smiled and said that they are a warehouse for lockers (The rooms we saw were actually their display area, lol..) and they are right at that moment busy fulfilling orders of lockers for schools, some oak lockers and even aluminum benches.  And at the same time, they temporarily host the new school’s office for inquiries and stuff. So that basically explains all the many lockers we saw. Then he called one of the men who were helping out affront and guess who walked towards us? Of course, the son of this gentleman, and he added that his son will be the one to explain everything to us. hahaha, no wonder he never looked any of the workers…

After our discussion with Mr. Axe Model (not exactly a model, but my sister and I refer to him that way every-time we narrate this crazy inquiry story), we decided not to consider the school for reasons that the exact address is too far from where we live. But then again, we’ll never know– a new school year awaits, yes, but Lili and River won’t need to move to a new school, until they finish K2 at Lifetime..

YAY! Grab bags..

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

It’s always nice to see grab bags. Unfortunately, we are only entitled 1 in 24 hours. But then again, it is better than none.. Besides, 1 grab bag may be equal to 3 to 4 opportunities in other companies.. So, yes.. Grab bags are blessings to behold..
