My best friend and best rival in elementary has cancer. I learned this from my secret partner (another term for confidante) in elementary who I bought my Atenistang Dilaw tee shirts from. She told me she read about it in FB. When I reached home, I checked the FB and  yes, all her present friends are wishing her a good fight, for courage and strength, for more positivity in her thoughts. That was last night. And I could not write anything. Not on her wall. I wanted to call her but, I could not bring myself to do so. I can not find enough strength and courage to tell her what I want to tell her. But wait! What will I tell her? It’s been so long since we last talked or spent time together. I know I want to be there for her, but I just don’t know how to start.. But I have to do something or say something..

I left her a message at FB and texted the number in my CP… I’m waiting for a response..

Fighting cancer is not easy. It entails a considerable amount of money for treatments and services. Not to mention the medicines to maintain, food supplements to take and a considerable amount of time for rest that will somehow take the patient away from his or her job, money making activities or businesses. It’s a fastidious weakening  experience. But of course, if one has the right attitude towards the illness, plus a positive regard above all things, then I think the person will surely survive.

Dear God, why must these things happen to people who have not done anything wrong? Why not give these ailments to the monsters of the world who are far more deserving.. whew..

I think I need to get myself a pair of eye glasses. Hmm. Seriously, I think I should. I have always been planning to visit my cousin’s aunt, the optometrist for a check up and eye glass fitting. Unfortunately for me, I always back out because when we were in elementary, we had this classmate who was called FROG EYES mainly because his eyeglasses were so thick. In high school, he moved to another school and the bullies there called him The Four Eyed Monster.

It was seemingly unfair because that said classmate of mine was and still is, a good person. It would be mean to call him those names when he has not even done anything wrong to hurt anyone, let alone innocent children. On the contrary, he has done so much for the community as a doctor for children and child traumas.

I saw him once when I was still living in Manila and his looks changed because the eye glasses he wore then was no longer as heavy looking as when we were in elementary or when he was in high school at another school. His eye-wear looked really cool and trendy.

Ah.. Maybe I will visit Tita Joy soon.. whew..
