EMPOWERED MOM

I can’t believe my eyes when I opened the boxes in my old room at the yellow house. I have so many textbooks that I have not sold or given away yet. Ohlalala.. How timely. I am planning to donate them to the school for indigenous youth somewhere in Bukidnon. I forgot the name though, but we have sent out some books through my mom’s office years ago.

Looking at the textbooks reminded me of so many things in my early years as a student. Can you believe that they are still looking good except for a few that the worms have destroyed, but everything else look okay. Ah, And the smell. Old books have this really distinct smell that defines their character.

Hmm. I wonder how many more textbooks Lili and River will be able to amass in their lifetime.. Currently, they each have 4 from Lifetime. And there will be more..

Summer is almost here. I have begun scribbling activities to keep Lili busy for the two months of vacation. First on my list is an advanced reading and advanced mathematics for Lili. Next is her request to study ballet, and third, private music lessons from my good friend and Kumare. Of course, Sweet will teach her and River some swimming skills, but it will take the form of  going swimming and having family outings for that. Lastly, a week’s vacation after summer classes is over.

Of all the things on my list, it’s the private music lessons that excites me. Well, I am into music and the arts. I would love to see my daughter doing the same things as I had done in my early years. And she is showing some interest except that sometimes she is overwhelmed by her shyness. So I am happy that she will be starting this summer..

STD Check UP is very important. Especially if you know you are prone to have it. No offense meant here. There are just some people who are active in the pleasure department and multiple partners just excites them more than a monogamous relationship. Uhm.. Sorry if I am blunt! This is not an understatement nor an exaggeration. But is a reality for some.

Sometimes, it’s best to be safe than sorry.. And if it embarrasses you to have yourself checked, there are doctors who can help you with the health advice that they provide, and they can be discrete about it.

Hmm.. speaking of STDs and STD tests, I was able to browse through www.tstd.org and read some important information in that website. Well, aside from visiting the doctor, it helps a lot if you gather as much information for your advantage.. READ! There are lots and lots of resources out there.. All you have to do is grab them..
