EMPOWERED MOM

Yesterday, the whole day, I did not have Internet connection. I went to my father’s house and did all of my tasks from there. Thank God! I was pissed and furious of so much loss already but thank goodness at 10 today, the Internet is back. Cable 21 technical team called the house and two of them came here to see to it that I am okay with the connection. Before they arrived, and before the Internet came alive again, I called Jane of PLDT DSL and inquired already. I was about to fill out the forms and tell her to meet me this afternoon. Well, now I am okay but I will be observing Cable 21 connection and see if they will not put me down again.. I lose dollars, not pesos, when my Internet becomes a problem…

When my mother and I would pray, we often use candles in matching candle holders on the altar. It exudes peace and tranquility that best sets the mood for prayer.  That and of course silence… Ah.. But there are times that I feel troubled and prayer is my sole refuge, I could say that candles and candle holders do the trick. I simply look at the candles and their candle holders in front of me, close my eyes and start my communication with God… When I am done meditating, I feel renewed. It’s like, seeing the candle drippings on the candle holder reminds me that the worries of the day have all melted away…

How about you? Do you also use candles and candle holders while praying? I think Catholics, Buddhists and even the Kaballah, use candles… I read somewhere that candles have even been used during the olden times. Ah.. I think that is also because they do not have electricity, lol.. Kidding aside, candles are often believed to have an edge in attaining peace and tranquility while praying.. I did mention that above, right?

Hmm.. Come to think of it also, the art and business of candle making and candle holder making have also been existing for centuries…
